Double Standards

Shouting in to the void on the double standard in the calls for empathy after Charlie Kirk's death.

The thing that is getting me the most about the meta narrative surrounding the shooting of Charlie Kirk - "the left" is always expected to show kindness, grace, empathy, and reverence to people who never afford that to us in their life.

And that expectation doesn't work the other way.

I'm tired of the double standard. If it is financially beneficial for people to create false narratives around the death of a Democrat and her family, then it is fucking fine for me to say that Kirk built the world that lead to his death through his use of horrific, inflammatory rhetoric.

If people want empathy and grace in their death, live a life that makes people want to provide that.
